On a previous week I had mentioned how we should pick our friends wisely, as not all our friends are there for the right reasons. Today’s topic relates to last weeks because when making friends we hope to find a friend who is a positive influence in our lives. Who really wants to make a friend that always tells you that you can’t accomplish anything or you look bad or any other negativity. If you are that person and want to be my friend I say thanks but no thanks, because I’m sure there’s enough individuals out there already talking bad about me. And if you’re reading this and you’re one of those people who hope I fail, guess what? I still wish you the best in whatever you’re doing and in life. The world has enough negativity and it needs to stop somewhere. Whether you change one person’s day or millions in a positive way, it all makes a difference. A positive influence is always good coming from a friend but can also come from so many other places. If you don’t think so, just open up whatever social media account you have and take a look. Every platform now has its own influencers and for different areas in life. You now have influencers on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and the list goes on and on. Also, to get more specific you have influencers for make-up, fashion, life, sports, and pretty much anything you can think of. If there isn’t one in a specific area you’re interested, why not become one and be the pioneer, just saying. Influences can come in so many ways it just depends on how you receive them. I personally, follow a few people who I find as a positive influence not just by what they do or say, but by what they have endured. One person that I follow that is very positive and driven is J. Valentino. Always spreading good vibes and funny content to make you laugh and strive for better. On another spectrum, you have someone I know and respect, Henry Vasquez, who is very influential not only in the make-up industry but in helping people love and accept who they are. He has even created a support group on Facebook, which I will post the link below. Last but not least, you have Berenice who I started watching a while back because of her funny Story Time videos on YouTube. I also started following her because of her fight to raise awareness and her personal struggle with Endometriosis. Like I said, not everyone out there is going to motivate you or inspire you but if you don’t have friends and family to do this the access is at your fingertips. So, if you ever come across a person who has a negative outlook on life or you might even already have someone like that in your life, then it’s time to cut them loose and move forward. When I say this, please understand that it won’t always be easy. Some of these people might be longtime friends, family members, or co-workers but honestly the more you hear someone tell you that you can’t do something; you’ll start believing it yourself. Influence is like a drug, the more positive/negative energy you get, the more it alters your state of mind. Just remember that you are great and don’t just surround yourself with positive people but be a positive person. I have always believed that what you put out in the world is what you will receive. So be positive and spread the love, it only takes one person to make a change. So until next time, remember to live to the fullest, laugh till you cry, and love unconditionally.
